While we may not be a multi-national financial institution, we do know all about them and how they do business. In fact many of us worked for them at one time but wanted to offer our clients a better alternative. First Virginia Community Bank was founded on the idea that when it comes to banking and financial services, for most people and businesses, bigger does not mean better. We did benefit from our experience at those national institutions, however.

Just as importantly, we learned what to avoid. The bureaucracy. The hidden fees. The "personalized" service that is impersonal at best. And, as the recent financial crisis has painfully proven, we realized the idea that big banks provide more financial "stability" could not be farther from the truth.
